Verisona Reinforces Commercial Practice with New Appointment

October 2011

Verisona has appointed Thomas Bond as Trainee Solicitor within the firm’s commercial practice. Within his role, Thomas works with the litigation, commercial services and business turnaround teams to assist a variety of commercial clients.

Thomas graduated from the University of West England in Bristol with a 2.1 in law and subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course at the City Law School, London. Thomas was awarded both a distinction and the Sweet & Maxwell award for outstanding achievement following his examinations earlier this year.

Alongside his studies, Tom acted as an independent custody visitor. Here, he was responsible for ensuring detainees at police stations in the Bristol area were being appropriately cared for. He also volunteered for the National Centre for Domestic Violence, helping abuse victims to obtain Court orders for their protection.

Earlier this year, Tom participated in a mediation competition with the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators in London, where he was challenged to provide clients with a resolution to complex multi-jurisdictional disputes. He worked as part of a team to ensure a satisfactory and commercially viable settlement.

Tom says “Joining Verisona is a fantastic opportunity to develop my skills while delivering solutions and practical advice to clients. It’s exciting to be part of such a dynamic and progressive team, eager to give local people the legal support they need in the way they want it.”

Richard Solly, Chief Executive at Verisona added, “We are delighted to have Thomas on board. Throughout his studies and work experience to date, he has demonstrated some exceptional qualities, both personal and professional.  I am confident he will be a great asset to the team. At Verisona, he will be well supported to further develop his career and expertise across key areas of his education such as commercial dispute resolution, intellectual property and mergers and acquisitions.”

Thomas is based at Verisona’s 1000 Lakeside office.
