Verisona is pleased to announce that Chief Executive, Richard Solly has won the Business Ambassador award at this year’s Education Business Partnership (EBP) Awards.
The EPB Awards, which took place on Wednesday 2 November in Portsmouth, are an annual celebration of the time and commitment businesses, schools, colleges and partners invest in developing programmes that support young people’s preparation for adult life and work.
Richard won the award for his contribution and dedication to services in education. He undertakes a number of activities both with the EBP and locally in education including working with the EBP Business Ambassador Scheme, his membership of the Portsmouth University mentoring scheme and acting as an active school governor. Richard also undertakes numerous business talks to schools, colleges and universities regionally.
Richard commented: “I am delighted and honoured to win the Business Ambassador award from an impressive regional shortlist. With increased competition for places coming out of schools, colleges and universities, graduates of all levels need as much career discussion and advice as possible. A key aim for Verisona’s activities within the community is to assist schools, colleges and universities through work experience, business talks and lectures and partaking in valuable EBP activities regionally. We very much support the important work that EBP undertakes and will continue to offer support for future involvement in the scheme”.
This year’s Awards ceremony was attended by 140 business people, teaching staff, students from Purbrook Park, Springfield School and their parents. Further information on the EPB can be found at www.portsmouthebp.co.uk.
