Mediation Hampshire

Mediation is a way of resolving disputes and difficult issues between separating couples. Mediators can help with all issues faced by separating couples and you can choose to use mediation to resolve specific issues such as arrangements for children, or all of the issues of separation.

Experience has shown us that following a relationship breakdown a couple often feel that they are losing control and that solicitors 'take over'. Costs can be high and the whole process can take months, sometimes years. The only people to benefit from this seem to be the lawyers.

We are committed to offering a non-confrontational approach to relationship breakdown. Meditation can be useful in a variety of situations to help you identify issues that matter to you such as: -

  • Where will the children live and how often will they see the
  • non-resident parent and their schooling
  • Affording to pay maintenance and how much
  • Both parties need somewhere to live - how to manage two homes?
  • We're not married - how can we afford to go out separate ways? It works for grandparents, couples, and Civil Partners.

At the heart of mediation is the assumption that both parties will want the best possible outcome for themselves, the other person and most importantly the children.

Mediators are trained to help people resolve disputes. We will not take sides. We are not advisors and will not give advice to either of you and will usually recommend that you seek legal advice along side the mediation process. As a Resolution trained lawyers, we are able to give you legal information to both of you within the mediation if this is appropriate.
