Commercial

All business engages in activities to help promote and sell their products or services. These may take the form of terms and conditions, franchise or trading agreements, Information Technology contracts, Intellectual property protection, options, supply contracts, licensing and distribution agreements.

Every contract is different and the bargaining power of the parties is not always equal. We believe it is important to ensure that the lawyers help to bring about the commercial conclusion our clients seek. Many lawyers see commercial agreements as an opportunity to show how much law they know! They focus on the 'means' not on the end result. That approach can manifest itself by placing obstacles in the path of the deal and it can seriously prejudice the desired outcome. In extreme cases the deal may falter.

We approach any deal in exactly the same way - we want to understand the commerciality of the deal and ensure we totally engage in the result our clients seek and work with them to ensure we achieve those ends.
